CURIOUS ABOUT CBD?

About CBD: Welcome

WHAT IS CBD?

CBD, short for Cannabidiol, is one of a multitude of compounds in cannabis. These chemical compositions are known collectively as “cannabinoids”. CBD, a non-psychoactive compound, is the most beneficial and widely studied cannabinoid. Because our CBD is derived exclusively from federally-licensed hemp producers, you can relax knowing our products are 100% legal in all fifty states.

We here at Acadia Farms Family pride ourselves on providing not only legal, life-changing products, but CBD education as well. If you have any questions at all…just ask!

THE THREE MOST COMMON CANNABINOIDS:

Phytocannabinoids are naturally occurring cannabinoids (ie. CBD, THC, CBN) found in plants, such as cannabis, echinacia, black pepper, cacao, and black truffles. Endocannabinoids are naturally produced by our bodies. (ie. anandamide, 2-arachidonylglycerol) Synthetic Cannabinoids are artificial compounds meant to mimic the effects of cannabinoids (ie. Pravadoline, 6-Iodopravadoline).

THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM (ECS)

Our own bodies naturally produce cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids. It’s, therefore, logical to think they serve a significant purpose. That purpose is to aid in the regulation of our bodies' ECS. The objective of the ECS is homeostasis: the perfect balance of our internal conditions to maintain the stability of biological processes within the body. Our ECS influences mood, appetite, pain, growth, gut health, and immune health to mention a few things.
CB1 Receptors are found primarily in the brain and central nervous system.
CB2 Receptors are distributed throughout the body (ie. brain, heart, central nervous system, digestive tract) but are primarily located in the peripheral nervous system and immune system tissues.
